Description:	An Italian man who lost his left forearm in an automobile accident was successfully connected to a robotic hand that was controlled by his mind and which allowed him to feel sensations in the artificial limb. At the start of the monthlong experiment, Pierpaolo Petruzziello, a 26-year-old amputee, had electrodes implanted in the nerves of what remained of his left arm. Over time, he learned to wiggle the robotic fingers independently, make a fist, grab objects, and make other movements.
