Description:	More than 50 years ago, former US pilot Milton Torres was ordered to shoot down a UFO over the English countryside and was later instructed by a shadowy figure to keep silent about the incident. But on Monday, Britain's National Archives released thousands of documents about reported UFO sightings, and Torres’s strange secret became a matter of public record. In May 1957, at the height of the Cold War, two US fighter planes were sent to shoot down an unidentified aircraft. Torres soon had a lock on what appeared to be an aircraft carrier of sorts, but moments before he was going to fire a salvo of 24 rockets at it, it disappeared from the radar screen with no explanation.
